What began as outdoor education has evolved into two specialist brands that serve distinct audiences, while remaining united by a shared philosophy.

Our story
Skern’s story starts with adventure — and with a belief that real learning happens through experience.
On the North Devon coast, outdoor programmes became a powerful way to help children and young people build confidence, resilience and self-belief. Over time, that same philosophy expanded beyond residential adventure into apprenticeships, qualifications and personal and professional development for people at every stage of life.
While our work has grown and evolved, our approach has stayed the same. We focus on learning that sticks — designed carefully, delivered by people who care, and shaped by fifty years of experience.
